Terms and Services
The terms below govern your engagement with Search Scope and your use of searchscope.com.au. By engaging us or using the site, you agree to these terms.

Services we provide
Search Scope provides SEO consulting and execution services, including local SEO, Google Business Profile optimisation and reinstatement, AI search visibility (GEO), e-commerce SEO, and related advisory work. The full current service list is on the homepage.
Engagement and payment
Each engagement begins with a discovery call, a scope agreement, and an initial invoice. Ongoing retainers are billed monthly in advance. One-off projects are billed in defined milestones agreed in writing before work starts.
All fees are in Australian dollars unless otherwise stated. Once a service is initiated and work has commenced, fees are non-refundable. Unused months on a retainer are not credited or refunded.
Cancellation
Monthly retainers are cancellable with 30 days written notice, no questions asked, no termination fee. Notice should be sent to seo@searchscope.com.au. Work continues for the remaining notice period and the final month is invoiced as normal.
Client acknowledgement
By engaging Search Scope you acknowledge:
- No ranking guarantees. Search engine rankings depend on factors outside any agency's control. We commit to transparent execution and measurable improvement, not specific positions.
- Materials are confidential. Strategy documents, audits, keyword research, and tactical playbooks shared with you are confidential and intended solely for your business.
- Link placement variability. Where outreach or PR work secures editorial placements, the timing, anchor text, and surrounding context are subject to the publishing site's editorial discretion. If a placement is removed within six months, we'll work to secure a comparable replacement at no additional cost.
- Site quality matters. You are responsible for the legality, accuracy, and quality of content on your own website. We may decline to continue work if a site develops associations with low-quality networks, illegal content, or material that risks our other clients.
Confidentiality and non-disclosure
Information you share with us — strategy goals, financial figures, internal data — is treated as confidential and shared only with employees, contractors, or professional advisers who need it to deliver your engagement. We are happy to sign a mutual NDA on request.
Intellectual property
Deliverables produced specifically for your engagement (audit reports, content drafts, schema markup, custom dashboards) become your property on full payment of the relevant invoice. Our internal frameworks, templates, and proprietary methodology remain ours.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, Search Scope's total liability for any claim arising from or relating to our services is limited to the fees paid by you for the three months preceding the claim. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost profits, lost data, or business interruption.
Nothing in these terms excludes any consumer guarantees or rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Service restrictions
We do not accept engagements involving:
- Illegal goods or services under Australian law.
- Content promoting violence, hate, or discrimination.
- Animal cruelty, unethical wildlife trade, or related industries.
- Black-hat SEO tactics designed to deceive search engines or users.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Western Australia.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last reviewed" date at the top of the page reflects the most recent change. For active engagements, material changes will be communicated in writing before they take effect.
